چکیده
Abstract An efficient and productive joining technique to weld aluminium has become a priority challenge for promoting the use of in electrical industry. One challenges is obtain welds with superior mechanical properties consistent quality surface as well low resistance. In this paper, influence rotational speed during friction stir spot welding AA 5754-H111 was studied analyse welds. The results from two speeds (1000 rpm 4500 rpm) are presented compared base material. It observed that samples welded at 1000 showed higher average shear failure load (~ 1.1 kN) 0.94 kN). microhardness than material, while lower. also found sheets, regardless used, increased resistance albeit increase about 42%, where just 14%.

Background: AA2519-T87 is a new armour grade aluminium alloy employed in the fabrication of light combat military vehicles. Joining of this material using fusion welding processes, results in the formation of solidification defects like porosity, alloy segregation and hot cracking. In order to overcome the solidification related problems, solid state welding processes such as friction stir weld...
متن کاملFatigue of Friction Stir Welded 2024-T351 Aluminium Alloy
Fatigue failure characteristics of friction stir welds in 13mm gauge 2024-T351 plate have been assessed. Failure occurred from either the weld region (nugget/flow arm) or from the material immediately surrounding the weld. Fatigue failure from the surrounding material was essentially conventional, initiating from large S-phase intermetallic particles and growing in a macroscopic mode I manner. ...
متن کاملInfluence of rotational speed on the development of microstructure in a friction stir welded 304 austenitic stainless steel
Friction stir welding was conducted on AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel sheet with dimensions of 100 mm × 100 mm × 2 mm. The FSW was performed at a welding speed of 150 mm/min and rotational speeds of 400 and 800 rpm. The results showed that high frequency of low angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) were formed through dynamic recovery in the thermo-mechanically affected zone (TMAZ). Higher amoun...
